A#Studio

1.  Are lessons year round?
- Yes, the studio operates year round and students will have lessons weekly during the school year (September-May). Packages are available in groups of 4, 6, or 8 lessons to be used over the summer months June, July, and August.   All Studio closures are indicated on the studio calendar.

2.  Are lessons private?
- Yes, lessons are 1 on 1 with the Piano Teacher

3.  What books will my student use?
- Books assigned to students are individual to that student.  At the first meeting the Teacher will spend time evaluating what books would best suit the students need.

4.  Do we need to have a piano?
- For piano lessons, Yes!, a piano must be avalible for at-home practice.  If families do not have a piano they must procure one before beginning lessons.  Students should have a well-maintained piano and acoustic pianos must be tuned at least once per year.  Digital keyboards should have weighted keys.  Anything under 88 keys is only acceptable for the first year of study and families should be making plans to upgrade as soon as possible.  A quality instrument has direct corrolation on the student's technical development, musical sensitivity and enjoyment of piano.  Students will not want to practice on an instrument that fights what they are trying to achieve.  For voice lessons, a piano or keyboard is helpful, however it is not mandatory.  Practice tracks/recordings will be sent to voice students to practice with.

5.  Where are lessons held?

-Lessons are held out of Miss Sarah's home studio located in the east McKinney/Princeton area.

8.  What is not included in Tuition?
- Tuition does not include:

9.  What if I need to change my lesson time or miss a lesson?
- Families enrolled in the studio have reserved a particular time in the teacher's schedule.  The teacher operates on a full schedule and moving a lesson to another time/day in many cases is not feasible.  However, in the case of an expected absence, families are invited to request to swap their lesson time with another family.  For an unexpected absence, such as illness, families may cancel their lesson via student portal.  Details on the Absence Policy can be found in the current edition of the Studio Policies which can be requested from the Teacher.

10.  What happens in the case of bad weather?
- The studio does not close for bad weather and requests families make the decision of whether to travel to lessons or not based on their comfort level.  Absences due to bad weather can receive their lesson via Skype during the normal lesson time or the family would fall under the Unexpected Absence Policy and may be eligible for a lesson credit.
